I'm really confused by your question. Are you asking if you can make a week-long connection between two flights? If so, that's impossible. Are you asking if you can get off in your connection city, stay the week, and get back on on the return portion of your ticket AT the connecting city and return to your originating city? If that's what you're asking, then probably no. The airline will notice that you have not travelled 2 out of the 4 flights (the flight from Chicago to Milwaukee and Milwaukee to Chicago) and will cancel the remainder of the itinerary. People try to do this to get cheaper tickets and the airlines know people do it, so they try to catch people and cancel the remainder of the itinerary. If you WANT to do the whole Chicago stay deal, looks like you're going to be buying several one-way tickets. Sorry :-(

Alica, if your fare is based on a connection, not a lay-over, in Chicago, then the airline can charge you for the Chicago-NC fare plus the Chicago-Milwaukee fare. There is a difference between a lay-over and a connection in fare construction. If you are supposed to make a connection in Chicago, and stay there, when you try to use the Chicago-Milwaukee portion of your ticket, you will be charged quite a bit for the difference in fare. In short, don't do this. It may cost you $200 or more. Regards, Dan

That would be nice!! I live between the two cities and this has happend to me! You CAN NOT get off in Chicago or else your ticket to go back will be voided!! You must stay on the flight to your next destination. I know it stinks but thats the way the airlines rules go! Good Luck!

Sure, you could get of in Chicago and stay as long as you want, but when it comes time to go back to North Carolina, you'll have to buy a new ticket. When you fail to show up for the return flight in Milwaukee, they will give your seat to someone on stand-by. You have to complete the trip on your ticket, as scheduled, in order to get full credit of that ticket.

There are no nonstop flights between MKE and Manchester, UK -- any itinerary between those two airports will have a layover and connection at one or more airports along the way. The actual time will depend on where the connections are and how long your layovers are. For example, if you were flying from MKE to MAN on US Airways via Philadelphia, orbitz.com says that the total travel time would be about 11 and a half hours, based on a flight time of about 2 hours between MKE and PHL, 7 hours between PHL and MAN, and about two and a half hours' worth of layover time. The time may be longer if your connection is further away (flying Delta through Atlanta, for example, would add additional flying time) or if you need to connect in multiple locations (such as flying American Airlines and British Airways, which would require connections in Chicago and London, for example).

The killer about international destinations from Milwaukee is that you rarely can fly to any of them directly. But we can dream of direct flights. And there is no better place to dream than "How Far Is It?" on the Bali vacation site (link below). Happy travels!

travelocity, expedia, orbitz, any of them will tell you... It all depends how far in advance you book the flight, which days you fly on, how many layovers, etc.
