Everyone throughout the world struggling to find cheap flight air tickets. If you are also one of them who want to travel in a cheap flight you should conduct some research in the internet. Booking online is really the best option as you can check for many fares and get the best fare. I was in the same situation last month, wanted cheap air tickets for my business trip then I did some research & came out with the best result. I got the best deal for cheap flight tickets with discount and special offers at Globester.com. Hope it also works for you.
3 :
You can check out http://www.kayak.com or visit a travel agent. My recommendation is to see if you can fly out of Chicago. Sometimes it is cheaper to fly out of a bigger city as there is more competition.

Cheap Transportation Advice Needed: Minneapolis to Milwaukee

Cheap Transportation Advice Needed: Minneapolis to Milwaukee?
Hi everyone. I need some advice about how to get to Minneapolis and Milwaukee on the 10th. It's important I be there. Only, I don't have a lot of money. From my searches: Amtrak: $100 round trip. (Beyond my means) Greyhound Bus: $104 round trip Flight: $850-$900 (Yes, I checked Priceline and Expedia. These were the cheapest flights. What gives?) My budget for a trip is $65-- hopefully less. Any advice out there? How can I get to Milwaukee on Wednesday?

how do baseball teams travel between close cities

how do baseball teams travel between close cities?
for example, would the yankees and phillies (if the yankees win) take a flight to the other city when the cities are within a couple hrs. i'm a cubs fan and am curious if they fly or bus to milwaukee which is like an hr and a half away.

I think everyone always flies unless its a series in the same city. Except for maybe the I-95 Special (Nats and Oriels). The Subway series in NYC or the Freeway series in LA. What do they call it when the Sox play the Cubs?
2 :
That's a good question. It takes less than 2 hours to take a bus from Yankee Stadium to Citizens Bank Ball Park. They would travel right down I-95, making this yet another I-95 series. It takes about half an hour driving time to and from the different airports and the stadiums total. The flight time is an hour from LGA to PHL. So if it takes them more than half an hour to board and deplane, they're better off driving, plus it's got to be easier on everyone anyway. I don't know if they fly or drive, but driving certainly makes more sense. Note, I-95 covers the Marlins, Nationals, Oriels, Phillies, Yankees, and Red Sox. 3 of the 5 teams in each the NL and AL East. The closest are the I-95 special teams of the Nat's and O's. The "I-95 Series" was the nickname for the 1983 Baltimore-Philadelphia series. New York and Philly are roughly the same distance. That's probably going to mean more road fans than usual at both stadiums.
3 :
It's up to the team to determine travel policy, whether or not it wants to shoulder the expense of flight (and, given how much easier a bus is in general, the added aggravation of the airports). And the northeastern cities are close enough that some teams do choose to travel by bus. In 1992, the Angels were using an off-day to travel from New York to Baltimore when the lead bus (of two) crashed. Several people were injured; manager Buck Rodgers was the worst, and needed three months off to rehab his broken bones; Alvin Davis was the only player who had to stay hospitalized more than one night. Various other, lesser injuries; everyone recovered. Players from the second bus were among the first on the scene, and helped pull teammates from the wrecked bus. http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/1992_Angels_Bus_Crash (This is the most severe incident in many decades wherein MLB might have had to enact its disaster policy. Thankfully for all, it wasn't THAT bad.)
4 :
I've always wondered that myself. I live near New York City, and when I have to go to Philly, I drive down I-95. If the yankees beat the angels and face philly in the series, i would think they would take a bus. By the time you figure in commute time to the airport, getting on the plane, the flight time, getting off the plane, commuting to the ballpark, I think it would be quicker to just take a bus, not to mention that it would be a hell of a lot cheaper.

Any tips on flying with a 1 years old

Any tips on flying with a 1 years old?
Hi, In April im going to be flying from Houston, TX to Milwaukee, WI. Does anyone have any tips on keeping my son calm during the flight? My son is a rather wild one (like most boys) and I dont know how he is going to take being held for 2 1/2 hours.

My daughter has been on several planes and I always make sure she has a special stuffed animal, doll or other item that she usually sleeps with. Than I pack an empty sippy cup, and then once we get through security I fill it up with water at a water fountain. I always pack a small bag of toys for her and snacks. Also you are not required to take a car seat on the plane! I didn't realize that and I was under the impression that you HAD to take one, but it is the best thing ever to just check it in and you don't have to lug it all around the airport. Hope this helps, and good luck!
2 :
can you cage him? just kidding! I have a 15 month old wild child myself. If you can afford to purchase a seat for him take his carseat and he will be fine. My son recently did great on a 24 hour car trip. I am pretty sure he would no sit for 2 hours on my lap though. Take lots of snacks and toys/books that may interest him. Good Luck!
3 :
don't be afreared. just take some entertainment. a movie would be nice as well. dont take your car seat. yeuchhh, what if he wants to sleep? just chill, the car seat will just bug him. he will become better on plane rides as he goes on more of them. bring a blanket and some valium. jk about the last one. no valium.
4 :
Go to the dollar store and buy a few little things that will be new and entertaining for him. Pack them in a bag and don't let him see them. Pull one out anytime he gets restless, new toys always keep a kid occupied for a bit. Also, take some suckers or hard candy with you, the altitude change can make them uncomfortable.
5 :
My sister just took her 1 year old daughter from the US to Poland, and she said she was a little fussy but everyone understood that she was an infant and they only have so much patience on a ride that long, at least its not like driving in a car and having to pull over to tend to the little one, so it shouldnt be that bad, just take a few toys or whatever might keep him occupied.

Milwaukee-Atlanta on a CRJ 700, Boeing 767-300?
I Will be traveling to Stuttgart Germany on Feb 12th and i was wondering if anyone has traveled on a CRJ 700 from Milwaukee to Atlanta? I have never flow a CRJ 700 so i was wondering how cramped it is---(im 6'5) . Also How long of a Flight is it? And how cramped would a Boeing 767-300 be??

Of the two, all else being equal, I'd rather fly on the 767 (any model of 767.) It's a much bigger plane, which has multiple advantages. It's not a terribly long flight, but the exact length is easy to get from the airline's web site.
2 :
The leg room on the CRJs will depend on who is operating them. I think they have 2 or 3 different airlines operating Delta Connection. They will each have their aircraft configured differently. The 757 should have more head room and the seats will be a little wider, but the distance between the seats will also depend on the airline. If you're over 6' tall you will not be comfortable in coach on either aircraft.

To give you an idea of aircraft sixe, here are photos of both the CRJ700 and 767 that have people in them for scale. CRJ700 - http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p71/rogerbcn/DSC00503.jpg 767 - http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e385/airbuseric/arke001.jpg.

I'm planning on traveling to Europe sometime next year, I'm trying to find the best location to fly into?
Sometime in 2010 I'm planning on traveling over to Europe. I'm wanting to travel throughout many different countries in Europe and was trying to find the best country/city to fly into from the Midwest. Chicago or Milwaukee. I was thinking possibly London or even somewhere in Ireland. But I'm not sure where to start this journey. I'm trying to find the cheapest flight. Any Suggestions would be appreciated. Cities especially.

what countries in europe you want to visit? because good chance you won't see all of europe. make a list and then ask yourself what cities in those countries. then search each of them individually on an airline company.
4 :
Amsterdam is the best, you can go anywhere in europe from there
5 :
use skyscanner.net. my guess is that it's cheapest to fly into Frankfurt, Germany or Madrid, Spain.
6 :
Paris- here is my rationale: it gives yohigh-speedeed rail service to Germany, Belgium-Holland, Italy, and England. Besides, you'll sure to want the extra time in Paris. All these high speed trains leave from Gare Nord station in Paris, its an easy train ride from CDG airport. have fun

Whats the easiest way to travel from Singapore to Wisconsin

Whats the easiest way to travel from Singapore to Wisconsin?
Ok.. I have to admit its my first time abroad alone.. Im clueless.. need as much help as you can give me.. I just need to getaway its an adventure but lots of difficulties ahead.. I called Singapore Airlines the operator wasnt really helpful and was rude! She told me a direct flight from Singapore to LA cost 2400. Or stop over at tokyo cuts back 200. But I need to make a connection frm LA to milwaukee myself and I may need to wait up till a day.. One whole day in LA? all by myself? A lone girl? And if I asked them to make the connection for me it would cost alot. Any advice from travellers? I be grateful.. thks..

Most travel agencies will set up all the flights for you. It may be a little extra money but a flight to Singapore is going to be exensive regardless. Good news for you, most of the people speak English in Singapore (I have visited there 6 times in the last two years) so travel and accomodations there are easy, plenty of hotels, and tons and tons of fun shopping areas. I would not call Singapore airlines, book it all through yahoo or a local travel agency. Good luck and have fun. If you get stuck in LA for the day call me.
2 :
Fly to Chicago. SIN to ORD. United Air Lines 804/882/7906 has a US$1721 roundtrip fare, with plane changes in Tokyo and Chicago. 23 hours travel time. See //travel.yahoo.com for this and other flights.
3 :
like the person said above me -fly to chicago and i'll see me
4 :
Or Northwest Singapore-Tokyo-Minneapolis then Milwaukee for $1484 USD roundtrip.
5 :
Singapore is not the most friendly airline. You could check with United, or Cathay Pacific airlines. Both of these fly to Chicago, which is a major hub in the USA. I pretty sure that you could catch a flight to Chicago, then catch a connection to where you need to go. I use to travel 6 times a year from Hong Kong to Providence, RI. I always flew into Chicago then connected on to my providence flight. Chicago airport is very large, so you may be able to occupy yourself while there, and you might have numerous flight to your destitution. www.ual.com www.cathaypacific.com

Midwest Airlines - have you had good experiences with them?
I'm planning a trip from Nashville, TN to Milwaukee, WI and would prefer to fly nonstop. Midwest Airlines is apparently the only airline that has that particular flight nonstop. However, I've heard next to nothing about Midwest and when I look them up online I get very mixed reviews. If you've flown Midwest and had a good or bad experience, any thoughts/comments/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Book it now, if your plans are set. Pretty expensive to change it later. But they are pretty cheap right now, as long as you aren't going over the Holidays themselves, travel mid-week and even better. The prices only go up from here.
2 :
The lowest airline fares are those booked at least 30 days in advance. Another money saving hint is to travel midweek, especially on Wednesdays.

Day trip to Milwaukee - public transportation

Day trip to Milwaukee - public transportation?
I'm planning a trip to Chicago. On the last day, I hope to take a daytrip to Milwaukee and catch a Brewers game to see Miller Park (via Amtrak). Flying home from Milwaukee is much more expensive than Chicago. Unfortunately there is a time issue. Game time is 1:05 and the last flight out of Chicago is 7:40 unless I take a more expensive flight. The 3PM train gets to Union Station at 4:30 and the 5:45 train gets me there at 7:15. The latter gives me very little time to get to the airport. How much time do I realistically need to go from Union Station to Midway to catch a flight? According to google, it's about a 10 minute drive from Miller Park to Amtrak but how is the public transportation? Is there a bus or train I can take or will I need a cab? If there is a bus, will they be operating during the game or only before and after? My other options are pay more money to get a later flight out of Chicago or a lot more to fly out of Milwaukee. Any advice is welcome! Thankds for the reply. I know how long a game lasts but I wouldn't mind leaving early as the game isn't exactly a great matchup (Brewers vs Nats). The problem is that I don't know if whatever public transportation that serves Miller Park is available in the middle of the game which could mean I can't take the earlier train. Plus the risk of going standby at night is the possibility of having to wait until the next day for a flight which means paying for a room at a hotel and also taking an extra day off. It's an extra $150 to book a later flight and maybe double that to fly out of Milwaukee.

Best info I can find says that the adverage 9 inning baseball game last 3 to 3 1/2 hours. Your game would be over around 4:05 - 4:35p. If you want to try to see the whole game then the 5:45 train is your only choice. My best advice is to take a later flight out of Chicago. Ask about flying stand-by and you might save a little money at the cost of not knowing 100% what fight you will be on til the last min.
2 :
Unfortunately, you will not make it to Midway if your train gets in at 7:15. With no traffic a cab ride is about 20 minutes to Midway, but Union Station is very large so it will take you time just to get out and get a cab. If you are going to take the 3pm train you can definitely take public transportation to Midway, but you will miss a lot of the baseball game. To take the el to Midway, walk east to the Quincy/Wells stop for the Orange Line. It only goes in one direction and ends at Midway. The ride is about 35 min, and trains come about every 10 min.
3 :
Take Amtrak. There is a shuttle bus that takes people from the train station in Milwaukee to the ballpark and back. Amtrak will cost you about $42 round trip. The shuttle bus is free. Assuming this is an average game, it will last about two-three hours or so, meaning it will be over at 3:00 and some change. But there is a train that leaves Milwaukee at 3:00. You may have to leave before the game is over and take a cab back to the train station (not sure if the shuttle buses start running again until the game is over). You've done your homework and found out it's about a 10 minute ride from the ballpark to the train station, so take that into consideration (also add in some traffic time in case you stay for the whole game and leave with everyone else). The train gets into Chicago at 4:29, plenty of time to take a cab or even an el train to Midway for a 7:40 p.m. flight.

Priceline flight question

Priceline flight question?
I was curious how much it would cost to fly home for christmas instead of driving. So i went on priceline, and put in oklahoma city, to Milwaukee, and the cheapest price was $299 this was with a connect flight in Chicago, so i figured hey, i could have someone pick me up in Chicago, no problem. So i went back and put in oklahoma city, to chicago, but the cheapest flight on this one is $334. Why is this?

This kind of pricing happens all the time. Any flight that departs from and arrives at major cities like Chicago is always more expensive than if you only connect through Chicago. One of the reasons is because the demand for seats is higher in Chicago than Oklahoma City and Milwaukee.

yes you can NOT change the name on the airline ticket that is true,, and there is nothing you can do thats per homeland security and TSA rules,... now you asked for some promo codes you can try the following website http://www.retailmenot.com/ this website has promo codes for everything you would just need to type in the airline you want to see if they have any
3 :
Hey, no you cannot change the name on the ticket as stated above, however when my grandmother was sick and unable to use her tickets we were able to get hers and my grandfathers tickets refunded, and then using that money we were able to buy new tickets and fly to her instead. However i think we paid the insurance when we brought the ticket, which was about $9, i dont know if you can get refunds unless you get the insurance, though it might be a call to the airline and explain you grandmother is sick and you need a refund or to put the tickets on hold until she is better, might be worth a try. chao
4 :
Midwest is already the cheapest flights. Promo codes won't help you. All they will do is get you the current price. The promo codes are based on the full fare price. The prices you see are already with a promo code of some sort.

I hate when that happens....did you try yawning? Or eating something?
2 :
For me, this is happened. It may be an ear infection from fluid that built up in your ear. Do you have a cold? Because that usually happens when the sinus is full and fluid seeps out. However, I hold my nose, swallow, and blow. It helped me. But, if you have a cold, then be sure to get rest, and give it 5 days to 2 weeks to leave.
3 :
Try: chewing a lot of gum, driving up and down from high to low altitude (if plausible in your area), put your head under water & try the hold your nose and blow technique. And, also, try buying an ear wax removal kit. It could be that the flight/altitude dislodged some ear wax and it is what is blocking your ear canal. If you don't want to try that, you can go to your doctor, who can check it out and perform the ear wax wash removal, if necessary. Good Luck! Have had this happen, myself - NO Fun!! & Hope this helps!
4 :
Hmm... Ive had the exact same problem. Usually I hold my nose and breath out. you can also try chewing gum or swallowing perhaps even yawning
5 :
When there's pressure in my ears i yawn or chew gum especially during assending and decending on a plane. Try and chew some gum. If that doesn't work, you need to go see a doctor. Something could be wrong.

It depends on where you are flying to. If you are flying outside of the US then chances are you will not be allowed to board the plane. These regulations are a part of the WHTI enacted by the US government which requires a valid passport for air travel outside of and into the US. Passports are not required for travel within the US. If you are flying within the US then you should not have any trouble as long as you have proper photo ID. The airline may accept an expired driver's license along with other ID if you have no other photo ID available. I would contact the airline and check with them as to what ID they require or will accept.

this is the first time i'll be flying without my parents and i have some questions that i hope can be answered. i know i'll need to check in before my flight to my destination, however frontier airlines (the airline i'm going with) has online check in. should i still arrive early to the airport? and also, my flight connects in milwaukee. will i need to check in once again? or will i be set for both of those flights? then, will i need to check in for my return flight? and my connection in milwaukee again? i will not be checking any baggage. it's a short trip and i will be able to fit everything in my carryon bag.

You may check in online or in person at the airport. It's a matter of personal preference. Either way, you should still plan on arriving about the same time. at least an hour and a half to two hours. dia can be unpredictable. Providing you are flying the same airline in Milwaukee, you will check in for both flights at the same time. there is no need to recheck in in Milwaukee unless you miss your connection. If your connecting flight is a different airline, you can go directly to the gate and check in. no need to leave the secure area. you will need to check in again for your return flight.
2 :
You don't neccisarly have to go in early. I do,because there is always lines. I'm 18. I started flying alone when i was 17. You will not need to check in again when you arive in milwaukee. You will just want to check the boards again for caution and see when you connecting flight leaves. Because you never know when theres a delay or time change. That's what i've done. Go straight in to the board. see how much time I have. Find the gate. So i know where i am. and if theres time go do stuff before it leaves :) Good thing you don't have to have any luggage :) Have fun! I'm not much help. I just like airports and planes.

I'm planning a trip on US Airways with a stop in Phoenix. Is flying US Airways really terrible

I'm planning a trip on US Airways with a stop in Phoenix. Is flying US Airways really terrible?
I'm planning to fly one way from Burbank,CA to Milwaukee on US Airways. First I would be flying from Burbank to Phoenix and then I would have to change plans to get to Milwaukee. US Airways uses an Airbus 320 for both flights. Many people say that US Airways is a screwy airline with poor customer service. On this flight does anyone know if any food or snacks is served? Another option I'm considering is flyinh Southwest from Burbank to Las Vegas and then flying Midwest Airlines from Las Vegas to Milwaukee.

My Dad flies all over the world monthly and he told me the one airline he would never fly again is US Airways. He says their customer service is terrible and he actually called the airline to complain after one particular flight. And my dad's not that picky. If he hates an airline this badly, I'd steer clear of it. I'll never forget how angry he was after that flight. I don't think any food is served but if there is, it'll be trail mix or peanuts at the most.
2 :
Hi there. I flew US Airways last November (Thanksgiving) from L.A. to Philadelphia. I flew non-stop both ways. It costs more, but was so worth it to me! I wanted to get there as fast as I could, cause I had limited time to spend visiting back east with my friends, and knew that I would be tired going home, and would want to get home as fast as I could. Yes, the planes were very crowded, but it was Thanksgiving Day...a bad day on any flight to fly! Get there early for check-in...just like they say!!! They did run out of the food that you can purchase on both flights. So, MAKE SURE YOU EAT SOMETHING beforehand! Free peanuts just don't cut it! They will give you the free peanuts and a soft drink or water. Yes, the customer service was very poor. You can get a burger or breakfast at the airport once you pass thru security. I definately would suggest that! There's usually a fast food type restaurant there at the airport. It's more expensive than normal, but worth it! Try to get an aisle seat if you're the type that likes to walk around, or uses the restroom frequently. I took a window seat next to 2 people that slept. And then I felt guilty waking them when I needed to get up to crawl over them! I tried waiting till they sighed...hoping I could see one eye open, and then I would know they were awake! I followed all the rules about the size and weight of the carry on luggage, but found that most people didn't...and the airline didn't seem to care! That blew me away! Flying nowadays is just such a huge hassle...period!!! No matter what airline! But non-stop is the way to go! I flew to see an old boyfriend that I was still in love with at his invite. So my flight out was exhilerating! He dumped me while I was there, so it was hell coming home! But I survived! Good luck with your trip!

US airways is a cheap airline, i've heard nothing but bad things about it. i dont know if you would consider it. but i found there is a direct flight from burbank to Madison ( MSN) dane country regional airport with American Airlines. you could then drive from there to milwaukee, or possibly take an inter city bus.
4 :
I fly almost 100 times a year and almost half of that is on USAirways. They've improved greatly over the past 2 or 3 years. They're gone from a below average to an above average airline now... not the best but pretty good. I've never had my luggage lost on them, never had any significant delays on them and they've been very pleasant. (One time I had a flight into Boston and it was diverted into Manchester, NH due to a 2-3 foot snowstorm in the Boston area - obviously not the airline's fault. They couldn't get us home until the next morning - they researched all options including chartering buses - so they quickly put us up in a hotel, and flew us back to Boston at 9am the next morning. The entire time they were giving us information, food vouchers, etc... and being very apologetic even though it wasn't their fault. I thought they handled the situation extremely well). Other than that, I've had very good service with them. In full disclosure, I fly USAirways enough that I have several hundred thousand frequent flier miles and elite status with them, so they might be inclined to treat me better... I do get free upgrades to first class. Also.... in my opinion Phoenix is also a good hub airport. And USAirways is better than Southwest Airlines.
5 :
there not my personal favorite, but there rates are cheeper ans the service on board shows why.
6 :
If you have to go to Vegas. Jet Blue. US Air is thumbs down. I took a short flight should have been 1 hour, 7 hours later we were finally aloud to board. I could have walked, next time I will. It took my 9 hours for a 1 hour flight. Driving in rush hour traffic is only 5 hours. Never again. No matter how much it cost. About food you should get a soda or water, maybe chips. Call the airlines they will tell you.
7 :
well the best airline there is is united they serve food but you have to buy it well i think in coach you will need to buy it but in first class its free.

I don't think any flights to the US still have smoking zones-- I may be wrong, but I haven't seen any for ages.

USA regulations prohibit smoking to/from USA, I think most airlines worldwide are nonsmoking now too. Thank god for civilization. Get a nicotine patch
4 :
there is no smoking on planes

You used to be able to smoke at the back on planes. Now days it is banned worldwide on any flight.

Is it better to fly from Waco, TX to Milwaukee, WI or drive

Is it better to fly from Waco, TX to Milwaukee, WI or drive?
I have $1500 that I could use towards a first class ticket (there are no direct flights, so it would use connections), or I could bag some of the money and drive up there. It's an 18 hour drive that I could do virtually non-stop or I could do 9 hours and then spend the night in a hotel and then another 9 hours. What should I do?
Air Travel - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Drive to Austin and fly from there. The ticket will be cheaper. With the price of gas above $3.00 the airplane trip maybe cheaper than driving. Plus why would you want to drive 18 hours if you don't have to.
2 :
I think that if you take a non stop flight like jetblue from Waco TX to Milwaukee so that way you won't have to drive all that way
3 :
Depends. I infer that it is just you. How much stuff will you be carrying? Flying with a lot of stuff is a pain. How important is your time? I'm a stingy SOB, so if time were not an issue I would probably drive -- maybe a hundred bucks worth of gasoline each way.
4 :
The answer above is right, because if you have a lot of stuff, you should just drive. Airline would be better I believe if you don't have tons of stuff. Driving 18 hours is a pain. You will get bored, plus you will have to pay for the hotel stay.

Wisconsin milwaukee-Delaware in general

Austin, TX to Baltimore, MD averages three hours, though it could be longer if there's a layover. Wisconsin to Delaware is probably about the same ... except there's no city in Delaware large enough that you're likely to avoid the layover (Wilmington's too close to both Baltimore and Philly and Dover isn't all that big), so I'd say three to five hours. Split the difference and say four?
2 :
The only way that you could fly from Wisconsin to Delaware would be on a charter or private plane. There is no commercial air service to the state of Delaware (which is the only state that doesn't have it). You'd either have to fly into Philadelphia International (15 minutes from the Delaware state line) or Baltimore International (90 minutes from Delaware but closer to Lower Delaware). Anyway, a flight from Milwaukee to Philadelphia takes an hour and 57 minutes.

It's a lot of those if you just Google it of course, but I was curious if anyone has an actual positive experience with websites like this. There are many online flight booking websites, I've had the best experience with www.everydaytravelconnections.com I found most of the well-known "major" websites are owned by the same company (not much difference in prices). The problems is, if those are the only websites you search - then you might not know that other deals are available. Hope this helps!

I would recommend dohop.com, I have seen it recommended for finding great prices, especially on international flights.

You will have to fly to whatever U.S. destination (L.A. perhaps) and transfer from there.

It seems that people think there are direct non-stop flights from one U.S. city as small as Reno(Nevada) to a great Asian destination like Manila(Phillpipnes)... There was a question posted a few months ago about a direct flight from London's Heathrow to Charlotte(NC)[I think?], and there were a few answers that the asker didn't want to see, just something that made her happy(to her, there WERE direct flights to Charlotte from Heathrow(and no one was to argue w/ her otherwise!)... To make this an appropriate answer, I say this: The only way to get to Singapore from Milwaukee is MILW to DIA(Denver), then to LAX, then to Singapore...
4 :
Take United Airlines if you want few stops: UA 0896 Singapore - Chicago UA 7894 Chicago - Milwaukee
5 :
I recommend that you the alliances website such as Star Alliance, SkyTeam and OneWorld. These websites gives you all the possible scheduling option available through their partner airlines. For example, if you use Star Alliance, you'll have the following schedule. Leg 1 - Singapore Airlines 12 09:40 Singapore Changi (SIN) -17:05 Tokyo Narita (NRT) Flight time: 6h25m Leg 2 - United Airlines 882 17:55 Tokyo Narita (NRT) - 14:23 Chicago O'Hare IL (ORD) Flight time: 11h28m Leg 3 - United Airlines 6773 (United Express) 15:45 Chicago O'Hare IL (ORD) - 16:34 Milwaukee WI (MKE) Flight time: 0h49m Total duration: 20 hours and 54 min which is the shortest time between Singapore and Milwaukee. Also, if you think the transit time in Tokyo is a little short for you, you can choose another flight such as All Nippon Airways NH12 that leaves Singapore at 8:45 am. If you just want to fly on United Airlines all the way, you can fly the following: Leg 1 - United Airlines 896 06:55 Singapore Changi (SIN) - 10:30 Hong Kong (HKG) Flight Time: 3h35m Leg 2 - United Airlines 896 11:35 Hong Kong (HKG) - 11:44 Chicago O'Hare IL (ORD) Flight Time: 14h09m Leg 3 - United Airlines 7894 (United Express) 14:15 Chicago O'Hare IL (ORD) - 15:04 Milwaukee WI (MKE) Flight Time: 0h49m Total duration of 22 hours and 9 minutes. Anyway, it gives you many options and chose the best option for you and book it on the same website. If you use SkyTeam, you'll be flying Northwest Airlines all the way for a total time of 22 hours and 4 minutes. NW 006 Singapore (SIN) 06:00 AM Tokyo (NRT) 01:40 PM NW 020 Tokyo (NRT) 03:10 PM Minneapolis (MSP) 11:05 AM NW 791 Minneapolis (MSP) 01:00 PM Milwaukee (MKE) 02:04 PM OneWorld has the longest time with 25 hours and 10 minutes. 08:15 Singapore - 15:55 Tokyo (Japan Airlines) 19:15 Tokyo - 15:55 Chicago (American Airlines) 18:40 Chicago - 19:25 Milwaukee (American Eagle) Another option would be to fly non-stop to Los Angeles (SQ 38) or Newark (SQ 22) then fly out next day on Midwest Airlines direct to Milwaukee. There are no flight to Milwaukee after SQ flight arrives at either location. Good luck.
6 :
Take Midwest Milwaukee-Los Angeles and Singapore Airlines Los Angeles-Singapore. It's pretty easy Good luck

Anyone had any experiences with Travelocity or Expedia

Anyone had any experiences with Travelocity or Expedia?
I'm about to go to a conference in Milwaukee and thinking about booking my flight and hotel with either Travelocity or expedia but I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with these online travel agencies or any others that were good- In addition, I've never used these online sites before so I was wondering what your opinions were for customer service, if you had any problems with them (and if so, if it ever got resolved), if the sites are safe (such as putting in credit card info), and if they are reputable. Thanks!

I book frequently on Expedia and have never had a problem. I even booked a 2 week multi-city trip to Egypt and Jordan on Expedia, and all of the hotels had my reservation with requests and all. The primary thing to watch out for is that many of the hotels are non-cancelable, so you need to read the fine print before booking. (Usually Expedia partner hotels with discounts are non-cancelable, and the non-partner hotels with no discounts are cancelable.) You can also enter your frequent flier #s onto their website, and they'll pass it along to the airline on your reservation. You can sort hotels by price or location, and filter by # of stars (so, for example, you can eliminate 2 star hotels if you want a nicer place). I've never had a problem w/ the credit card on their site, but if you're nervous you can call your card # in -- they have a toll free #. Usually Expedia gives a small discount (around $20-50) for booking hotel and flights together. Expedia does have traveler reviews, but I found that http://www.tripadvisor.com has even more reviews, so I usually use them. Happy travels!
2 :
Travelocity and Expedia have expensive travel package. I recommend when you book go to http://www.firstworldclasstravel.com They give excellent travel package rate.
3 :
I booked a 10 day trip to LA from Toronto and it was great. I booked a flight into Anaheim with a Hotel for 3 days then drove to Beverly Hills for the remainder and flew out of LAX. Expedia set up all my flights, both my hotels, as well as my rental car and it prints everything out all in a nice itinerary. With all the flight numbers and confirmation numbers for the planes, hotels, and cars. It really makes for a hassle free trip. They give you options to change your flights so you can pick a time that suits you or just pick the cheapest one. And to top it off out of all the places to book out there this was the cheapest one i found and it was also the easiest to do.
4 :
My family and I recently went to Amsterdam and I checked Expedia, Travelocity, and The Butner Travel Group. The best rate I received was with The Butner Travel Group. All of our airfare and hotel accomidations were exqusite. Go to: www.thebutnertravelgroup.com

First off, I thought I'd check out the pricing on Kayak. Are you familiar with that site? http://www.kayak.com They search all the other travel sites for you. It looks like Midwest Express is indeed the cheapest fare, tied with AirTran. They listed a price of $94 for the 24th and $90 for the 25th. Regarding coupons, I found a few on this site: http://deallocker.com/coupon/midwestairlines.com/ I'm always very skeptical of these sites. Most of the time they are just shames, looking for you to click on their ads. However, I recently purchased a very expensive piece of jewelry online, and I actually got several hundred dollars off using a promo code I found on a website. It was a really old code, and the customer service rep didn't recognize it, but since it was still active I got to use it! Good luck.

I had to close my eyes when we were going down to land. in june I will be flying from Orlando to Detroit which is just over 2 hours of flight time. Will i experience any air sickness or anything. I would take some dramamine just in case, it won't hurt anything. You will probably be fine, little planes are always bumpier and you probably didn't get above the wind gusts. I hate small planes I have to fly from my small airport to a bigger airport and it sucks its 40 minutes of bouncing around in a wind tunnel. I take valium. Have fun what's your new job? It is kinda new isn't it?

Missing a connecting flight on purpose

Missing a connecting flight on purpose?
Here is the deal, my gf is taking the bus from Vancouver B.C. to Seattle, flying from Seattle to Milwaukee. I am picking her up in Milwaukee as flying into Chicago is much more expensive. However the flight has a layover in Chicago. Can she simply tell the check in agent that she is going to miss her Connection and route her bags to Chicago?? Will this be ok?? Has anybody ever done this?? thanks
Air Travel - 5 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Did she pay for the flight all the way to Chicago? They wont fly the bags for free.
2 :
Why would the airlines do that? First of all if they can charge more and get you to pay more to fly into Chicago, they will because the airlines need the money. Second, when your luggage tag will match the destination city on your boarding pass.
3 :
Technically it's a no-no. First off, if it's a round trip, SEA-ORD-MKE-ORD-SEA, if she misses the ORD-MKE flight, the remaining flights will automatically get canceled, and she won't be able to get back to SEA. Secondly, when she bought the ticket SEA-MKE, all the airline is obligated to do is carry her to Milwaukee. In other words, if it's United airlines, they could decide to cancel her first flight, and send her Seattle-Denver-Milwaukee instead. Or American Airlines could send her via Dallas instead of Chicago. Etc. But...if it's a one-way ticket, there's a chance it *might* work. I have done it - I had a ticket CDG-ZRH-BOM-ZRH-CDG, and when checking in for the return part of the trip (BOM-ZRH-CDG) I asked if I could just take the BOM-ZRH leg. The woman at the checkin desk was very nice, and just tagged my checked luggage to ZRH. However, if it's a one-way ticket and she does do this, technically the airlines reserve the right to come after her for the difference in cost. This has traditionally been something they do only rarely, and only to repeat offenders. But I've heard they're starting to crack down a bit.
4 :
No - they will not route her bags to Chicago - it will be checked all the way to her final destination
5 :
Bags are not allowed to fly unaccompanied and they will have to yank them off the plane in Chicago. And of course, if she misses her connection, no one will force her to go to Milwaukee. But tha airline may ground ship her bags to Milwaukee. Basically, this can only really work if she has no checked bags. Also note that if you miss part of a flight they may cancel the return flight.

Extremely UNlikely. If the departing flight is delayed in any way, even a few minutes waiting on the taxi way to get to the head of the line for takeoff, you could so easily miss the connection. You might have to wait for 5 or 10 minutes after you arrive in Milwaukee for a gate to open. Anything at all like that could make you late. Remember that you are supposed to be boarded BEFORE the time listed for departure. The airline would like be able to have the doors closed and be pulling away from the gate at that time. I <<seriously>> recommend that you find something with at least a 1 hour connecting time.
3 :
You should be ok. If both planes are with the same airline, the gates are usually in the same terminal. MKE isn't that big of an airport. The only issue that I can foresee is in the size of the aircraft. Sometimes big planes use different terminals from small planes. The airline may be able to help with specific details if you call them. Additionally, if you happen to get a customer service rep in India or somewhere like that, you can ask them to transfer you to a rep in the U.S. and they legally are required to do that. I hope this helps. p.s. Flights often start boarding 30 mins. prior to departure.

Travel Question concerning time zones between CDTZ and WCTZ in America

Travel Question concerning time zones between CDTZ and WCTZ in America?
Please help settle an argument Let's say a flight was to leave from Milwaukee at 2:30pm [CDT] and it was a four flight to LAX, what time would I get into LA [west coast time]. Thank you for your responses.

The Central Time to Pacific time difference is 2 hours. Lv. Milwaukee at 2:30 PM add 4 hrs. flight which would in Milwaukee time be 6:30 PM, now deduct the 2 hrs. time difference and your answer is: 4:30 PM
2 :
Not sure where you got those abbreviations. Since we don't use either CDTZ or WCTZ in the US. Milwaukee is in the Central Time Zone (CST now, the D is only used for Daylight savings time which we are now off until March). Los Angeles in the Pacific Time Zone (PST). PST is 2 hours behind CST. So if you leave Milwaukee at 2:30pm and take a 4 hour flight, it would be 6:30pm CST when you land. Turn your clock back 2 hours and it will be 4:30pm PST in Los Angeles.

Which is cheaper, plane or car

Which is cheaper, plane or car?
Hi, I am trying to persuade my mom to let me take a plane down to Sarasota from Milwaukee. It is 1,313 miles. She gets 20MPG. What is the price of total gas? The roundtrip flights to Milwaukee and Sarasota is $231, and that would be 2626 miles total. So basically what I'm asking is the price for 2626 miles with 20MPG. Thanks in advance!
Air Travel - 6 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
divide the number of miles by 20 then multiply the price of gas per gallon. off hand i would say you can't beat the roundtrip price.
2 :
it would be about 132 gallons of gas, at about $3 a gallon it would be cheaper to fly
3 :
Well at 20 MPG that means you will need 131.3 gallons of gas at about $3 a gallon so its $393.90 for gas averaging $3 a gallon.
4 :
its around 260 tanks of gas so multiply that by three so like $1000 gas, but you'll probably get better gas milage than 20 on the highway and so with that and the amount of money you save on luggage that you can take i would say car is cheaper, but since you got such a cheap flight (231$ roundtrip sounds fishy b/c its so cheap) i have to say flying is cheaper
5 :
With gas money, long distances are usually cheaper to fly unless booked at the last minute.
6 :
Hi Jason, it's good that you're thinking! Depending upon your age, I'd probably have tried to get you to do the simple gas math yourself, but others have gone ahead and given you some info. Here's some more things to consider.... The airfare is times 2 remember. Will you drive each way non-stop? If not what will a hotel cost? How about meals on the road? If you fly, will she need to rent a car in Sarasota or take taxis/limos? What's that car cost per day? Or taxi/limo costs? There's another potential cost in Milwaukee if you fly; can you guess it? Good luck running all the numbers; it's a very mature exercise to do! RJ

There's no way to tell you what exactly happened to your aircraft without having a look at the plane and diagnosing the bleed and pressurization systems. Either the pressurization system wasn't getting air fed to it, (Bleed air not getting supplied for some reason) The Pneumatic Air Conditoning Kits (PACKS) may have failed, or the outflow valve or its controller failed such that the valve would stay open. It could be any number of things. Pilots have been occasionally known to climb out with the packs or bleeds off. That's extremely rare but still a possibility. They'll never admit to it either! On the other hand, the pressurization may have been just fine, but there may have been a glitch in the controller that senses a high cabin altitude.

It's usually best to book around 3 months before your trip. Sites like cheapair.com have a fare tracker so you can get emails when the fare you want is lowest

I would book in the next month or so- if you need a great price email me!

Hurricane and venue excuses aside, what are the Astros blaming the 5 game skid on?
I / We all know the Hurricane hitting Texas was an awful thing, our prayers are with the people that are dealing with the aftermath. Now back to your regular scheduled heckling. Hurricane and venue excuses aside, what are the Astros blaming the 5 game skid on? A. Lance Berkman: Sick from eating 25 American Airlines snack bags on the flight to Milwaukee B. Hunter Pence: Left his Ritalin at home C. Miguel Tejada: Actually 46 years old D. Geoff Blum: 'I pretty much suck' E. OTHER - please specify before you report take a look at yourself & the years of heckling of Cubs fan.

They can't hit the ball, period.
2 :
Most of the Astro fans just love fishing for excuses. It annoys me. I never fish for excuses when it comes to my A's, and I don't see any Giants fans complaining either. Their team just flat out doesn't have enough tools to make it this year. I like how you poked fun at Tejada, Pence, Blum, and Berkman, lol.
3 :
Why pick on the Astros? NO ONE seems willing to win the wild card. It's like a contest no one wants to win. Sort of like the little league in South Park.
4 :
Well, I have respect for all of the Astro fans and I have no clue why they are on this losing streak. Your one of the many mean-spirited Cub fans on this board, just because your team is having a great year doesn't mean you can disrespect other teams like that.

My important flight doesn't have an assigned seat. What should I do

My important flight doesn't have an assigned seat. What should I do?
I'm flying from Milwaukee to charleston S.C and I have a layover in Detroit but on my next plane from Detroit to S.C I don't have a seat assigned. And that's the important one. What should I do? Or what happens? I leave Wed. July 7

You will probably get your seat number on your ticket when you check in. The seat choosing systems aren't always available depending on how you book your ticket, or for smaller flights.
2 :
Did you not select a seat or are there none available? If you didn't select one, log onto Delta.com and click "Itineraries & Check-in'. There, you'll be able to select a seat. If none are available, you have to wait until the airport to get your seat assignment. Have a great trip!
3 :
I know I had to go to their site 24 hours before my flight to pick a seat. Just call the airline to find out :)
4 :
and sometimes you can choose your seat. im flying on southwest on july 11 to pittsburgh and we can sit whereever you want (but try not sit by a weirdo lol jk)
5 :
go to delta.com and sign in and then reserve a seat

What would be the cheapest approach to getting a plane ticket to Madrid (March 15-23)

What would be the cheapest approach to getting a plane ticket to Madrid (March 15-23)?
During my spring break (march 15-23) I would like to fly out to see my girlfriend in Valencia, Spain. I'm looking for the cheapest ticket a can get (im a poor college student). From the research I've done it seems like flying into Madrid is cheaper than to Valencia. I live in Wisconsin, and would fly out from the Green Bay or Milwaukee airports. Mutiple flights are not a problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and the cheapest flights I've found so far have been around 670$. Thank you

First, try student travel sites. These are sometimes cheaper and more flexible: WeFlyHome.com STAtravel.com TravelCuts.com StudentUniverse.com Then try http://www.bookingbuddy.com with as many of their sources as you can. 1 input of cities and dates there can check hundreds of sources, including Kayak, Priceline, Orbitz, airlines direct, consolidators, and sources that check more sources--all in 1 go. Otherwise, I see Chicago-Madrid $521 total with American if you depart the 16th. If the links I gave above can't beat that, then you can get it from http://www.aa.com

try this before you buy ticket http://www.search2u.net/job.htm Good Luck!

Does An Airline Pilot's Flights Have To Start From The Pilot's Assigned Hub

Does An Airline Pilot's Flights Have To Start From The Pilot's Assigned Hub?
Lets Say That A Pilot Lives In Orlando, Florida. And That Pilot Applies For An Airline Based Out Milwaukee, Wisconsin. But That Pilot Lives In Orlando, Florida. Would That Pilot's Flights Have To Originate Out Of Milwaukee, Or Could That Pilot Start His Flights Out Of Orlando To Milwaukee, Than So On? Or Would That Pilot Have To Move To Milwaukee And Start All Of His Flights Out Of Milwaukee, Than Back To Milwaukee?

Technically the point of being based in a city is to operate out of it. It just wouldn't work if every pilot tried to start out of their home city. Many pilots do commute to their hub. I had a friend who operated out of Cincinnati, but lived in a small city in Texas. He would fly to Dallas and up to Cincinnati when he was scheduled to fly.
2 :
I would venture that 6 or 7 out of 10 pilots live in a different city than they are based out of. They commute back and forth by using an agreement that airlines have with each other to help pilots make the trip, this is called jumpseating. If there are extra seats on the flight, the pilot will ride in the cabin. If not, the pilot will ride on an extra seat in the cockpit called the jump seat. We can do this because as pilots, we all endure special security screening that other employees in the company do not. Pilots commute for a variety of reasons. One would be starting with a different airline that is based in another city. If an airline has several hubs, as your seniority increases, you can bid to transfer to another hub city. This may be for an easier commute, to be closer to home, or because of better schedules available out of that hub city. Another reason can be promotion to captain, or upgrading. This causes a pilot to go from the top of the first officer seniority list to the bottom of the captain list. This may mean the pilot has to transfer to a more junior hub city to fly as a captain. Things change so quickly that it is difficult to list every possible scenario. Some pilots choose to move rather than commute, because it adds stress and can eat into your days off if you miss flights or have to leave home early.

What can I bring on an Air Trans flight

What can I bring on an Air Trans flight?
I'm flying one way from Boston to Minneapolis with a brief stop in Milwaukee next week. What can I bring on the plane? The last time I flew was 2005 and I put a bag of pretzels in my carry on bag. Can I bring small bottles of alcohol? Or Starbucks maybe? I don't want to be beholden to the airlines for their pathetic, expensive food and drink

You can bring alcohol but it must be sealed and in your checked baggage. Any allowed liquid on your carry on cannot be larger than 3.4 ounces. Prohibited Items: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm Information on Liquids: http://www.tsa.gov/311/index.shtm
2 :
www.TransportationSecurityAdministration.com hope it helps it really helped me when i went on a plane
3 :
You can take any food and and soft drink you like on an aircraft, the rules regarding liquids is strict if brought in from outside the secure area, where they need to be in containers of no larger than 100ml (3.4 Fl oz) and should all fit into a 1 quart zip-lock bag. I would not recommend taking miniatures.

First time flying with a layover. Has anyone flown to/from Milwaukee's airport

First time flying with a layover. Has anyone flown to/from Milwaukee's airport?
Obviously, I don't get to fly very often. I'm flying to LA for the OSU/USC game and have a layover in Milwaukee. I have 50 minutes between flights. I tried to get a longer layover, but unfortunately this was my only option at the time I booked my flight. I'm worried about missing the connecting flight and having to book a later one. Is this enough time to get my luggage, check in, and board the other flight?

Don't worry - once you arrive in Milwaukee, you won't need to get your luggage or check in again for your next flight. Your luggage will get transfered automatically and you will get both your boarding passes when you first arrive and check in (at your original departure airport). All you have to do is check the signs and go to the gate for your next flight. You'll also already be inside the security zone so you won't have to do security again either. 50 minutes could be a bit tight especially if your first flight is delayed. I don't know much about the Milwaukee airport but I don't think it's super huge. Don't stress about it though - the airline will accomidate you if there is a problem.
2 :
In a smaller airport, like Milwaukee's, 50 minutes should be more than enough time. Good luck!
3 :
you should not have to get your luggage, It will be check thru to your destination. Mil is not a huge airport and the layout is fairly tight. 50 min will be plenty to meet your flight Good luck and Go Buckeyes
4 :
it depends if you are connecting to the same airline wich im assuming you are. mikewaukee is a smaller airport and 50 minutes would be plenty...especially since you dont need to claim and recheck your luggage... it will continue on and you dont go thru security again. the only way you wouldnt make it is if your flight is delayed to weather or non weather related issues. in that case the airline will reacommodate you on another flight. dont stress. ive seen people make way shorter connections in milwaukee.

Is there any way to avoid a fee by changing your airline ticket

Is there any way to avoid a fee by changing your airline ticket?
We were origionally flying from Richmond To Chicago To Milwaukee, with the return flight coming back the same way. But our plans have changed and now we just want to fly Richmond to Chicago and back. But the airlines are trying to charge us $500 to not continue to Milwaukee. Also our return trip gets voided if we don't get on the plane to Milwaukee. Any suggestions on how to avoid the $500 fee? We are already flying this route, so nothing has to be changed, they are just charging us more to fly less. Eek.

they are charging you to change the ticket, not because of any cost difference from the change in your destination. when you buy a ticket, you can purchase a non-refundable, no-change one, or you can pay more and have the ability to modify the ticket at a later date. i assume you paid for the first, and now you are seeing the consequences. the reason why they charge for such things is because airlines rely on being able to fully book flights ahead of time to make their the flight profitable. if people are always changing their schedules it makes very hard to keep the flight fully booked. one person isn't a big deal, but if they allow everyone to do it it becomes a problem. i am not saying i like it either, but it is sort of something you need to understand when you buy a ticket.

cheap flights HELP

cheap flights HELP!?
i need i good website for a cheap flight to milwaukee

orbitz.com is pretty cheap i use them all the time im just moved from wi
2 :
go to priceline.com or 1800flycheap.com there you can name your price, it gives you a non-stop flight and you can put in a price your willing to pay i got a flight from LAX to JFK for $35 including tax on American. It was at 11:00am. you can also check out priceline.com's regular fares.
3 :
Booking through the airline's website is probably the cheapest option. I fly constantly for work - almost 100 times a year - and always book through the airline's website. I check sites like expedia.com or orbitz.com just to see which airline has the cheapest flights, then I go to that airline's website and book the flight because I always get the exact same fare through the airline. Also sites like expedia.com all charge a "booking fee" of $5 or more, so it's actually cheaper through the airline. And many airlines guarantee that you'll find the cheapest fares through their own website (I know American Airlines does). You could check the "low-fare" airlines too (like Southwest Airlines or JetBlue) - but I don't think many of them fly out of Milwaukee and also in my experience they're actually MORE expensive.
