How big is Milwaukee Airport

How big is Milwaukee Airport?
I have a plane change in Milwaukee and 1/2 an hour between flights, and want to know if it's big enough that i will have to run to make my flight.

30 minutes is not alot of time, no matter which airport you're at. If you aren't changing carrier, it might be ok. If you are switching carriers, you probably need to run. See when the airline says arrive at a certain time, that is when the plane physically touches down, not when the door opens. If you are in the back of the plane, it may take 20 minutes before you even get out of the plane. Never do less than 1 hour between connecting flights.
2 :
Depends on if you have to change terminals or carriers. Same terminal shouldn't be too much trouble, but a bit of a rush. Swithing carriers and/or terminals and you have no hope in Milwaukee. You have to rescreen through security to move from one terminal to another.

What is the cheapest place to book a flight from WI to San Diego, CA for three weeks from now

What is the cheapest place to book a flight from WI to San Diego, CA for three weeks from now?
My friend is having a last minute wedding in CA - and asked me to be a bridesmaid/witness. I live in Wisconsin, so need to fly out of either Milwaukee, Appleton, or Green Bay. I am flying to San Diego, CA. The dates are May 15-17. I need to arrive in CA by 6pmish (or before). Someone help me please??? I am a full-time student if that saves any on fares.

Most of the internet websites are not charging booking fees currently. I always use kayak.com as a first reference point, then if there's a booking fee, move direct to the airline website to book/buy the ticket. David Rowell http://www.thetravelinsider.info
2 :
Try Jet Blue, Southwest, and TravelZoo. There have been some fantastic rates lately.
3 :
I've found that Southwest has the best prices for last minute flights.
4 :
Your best bet is to go to Sidestep.com and do a search. It searches numerous sources at once. You can also try Priceline.com, but use the name your own price and go about $100 less than the lowest price on Sidestep for a starting price. You may get lucky. The regular search on priceline, by the way, usually won't reveal anything cheaper than other mass search sites. Sidestep has been, for me, far more helpful than orbitz, expedia, travelocity, etc. It's more thorough, and usually finds better deals. Also, there are several sites that do "last minute travel" searches for weekend trips that can find sometimes cheaper flight packages. Flying midweek is always cheaper, because there's less demand. Being willing to take a red-eye flight can save you a lot of money as well. My husband saved $211 by taking a flight that went through the night. We figured, he'd be sleeping anyway, so why not save the money?
5 :
try midwest airlines from green bay to la and then take a commuter plane down from la to sd
6 :
Sometimes your friends/family might get discount rates if they are union members or are AAA members. You might check with your family to see if you can get a discount if they buy the ticket and you re-imburse them.
7 :
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. just go here: http://bookme.com/flights.php and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

What is the most unique thing you've done to cover up your farts in public

What is the most unique thing you've done to cover up your farts in public?
One time I had to take an over night flight from Tucson to Milwaukee. It some how gave me an extremely painful case of gas. So what I did is I pretended to be sleeping during the entire flight. And every time the enigines would get to their loudest, I'd just let my farts rip hoping no one would hear or they would think I really was sleeping while it happened. What's the most creative thing you've done to cover up your farts in public?

This isn't my story but anyway..... My grandma always seems to fart in supermarkets so she's invented this ingenious plan. She 'accidentally' drops an item of food and as my papa bends to pick it up she let's one rip. Papa looks guilty already but to add insult to injury my grandma says really loudly 'awwwwww Peter!!!!!' then just walks off. Classic grandma <3

damn that was creative lol, I think the most creative I have gotten is coughing or just doing it but pretending i didn't hear it or carrying on as normal so no one thinks it is me. Lad i know waited for a loud bass bit in his music then let one rip, he had his i-pod in lol

I doubt there is any. Have you tried going to the airport web site? the suburbs are horrid for public transportation
2 :
Do you know how to get to O'Hare? There is hourly bus service from O'Hare to MKE. See: http://www.coachusa.com/CoachUsaAssets/files/105/Airport%20Express.pdf Can you get to Glenview? There is Amtrak service from Glenview to the Milwaukee Airport: http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/BlobServer?blobcol=urldata&blobtable=MungoBlobs&blobkey=id&blobwhere=1249208725100&blobheader=application%2Fpdf&blobheadername1=Content-disposition&blobheadervalue1=attachment;filename=Amtrak_W23.pdf If you can get to the Metra UP North line and take a train to Kenosha, there are also possibilities from there, but the route is very circuitous and may not get you there on time. http://www.coachusa.com/CoachUsaAssets/files/105/Kenosha%20and%20Racine.pdf Also, consider a one-way car rental. Rent a car the night before, drive it to work, and then drive right to the airport. I have rented Avis cars for this purpose and the rate was quite reasonable, but I do have a corporate rate. By the way, parking is only $5 per day at the "Super Saver" lot: http://www.mitchellairport.com/parking/

Should I wait to book my flight

Should I wait to book my flight?
My husband and I are flying to Reno, NV in early March. We are flying Southwest out of Milwaukee, WI. Right now the flights are 218/person to Reno, and 154/person to fly back. It just recently went up in price and I was wondering if there is a certain day of the week I should book, or if I should wait until February. I know that booking 2 weeks before is a bad idea. Let me know what you think!

Book as early as possible
2 :
It's very unlikely prices will come down, but almost certain that they will increase the longer you delay. So, "no", you really shouldn't wait.
3 :
Book now. March isn't far away, so I suggest you book your tickets as soon as possible. Those fares seem pretty reasonable given the route you're flying. It is unlikely that the fares will go down. Have a great trip!
4 :
i was told that IF southwest cuts their prices its on TUESDAYS. this has held true when i look on tuesday as compared to any other day of the week but it doesn't happen EVERY week. in my opinion you should book ASAP if you'd like to test out the tuesday "discount" theory then go for it but if the price is the same then book it anyways! cuz really the price is only going to increase the longer you wait and in fact the flight home will get more expensive if you wait much longer.

You can, but the airline will call you and probably airport police too to find you. And, the return portion of your ticket will be canceled.

Anyone else in the plane last night flying near Milwaukee

Anyone else in the plane last night flying near Milwaukee?
I was in the plane last night flying from Washington D.C to Milwaukee. And when we reached the Milwaukee Airport..Actually, We were kindove close but not exalty at the milwaukee airport. and suddenly it started striking and blistering full of rain. It was the WORST thunderstorm ever. Everyone started crying because the lightning made a surround around the plane. and We were 32,000 feet high and everyone was crying, and it was only suppose to be a 45 min ride, but when it started striking around the plane (Air Tran) it added 1 whole hour last night (May 13,2009). And then the engine kept turning off everyone 10-15 seconds because it was surrounded by lightning. and then the pilots kept turning it back on and when they turned it back on, it went like BOOOOOOM and they like accelorated suriously fast trying not to hit the ground, and like when they kept turning it on, the speed was like 1,000+...It's just amazing..So was anyone else on a flight flying near milwaukee? or driving...?

What are the procedures of boarding a flight? URGENT

What are the procedures of boarding a flight? URGENT?
I haven't flown since I was a child so I am completely clueless as to what the steps are to boarding a plane. I am taking a flight (alone) tomorrow morning, bright and early from Milwaukee to Myrtle Beach. There is one stop (in Charlotte, NC) on the way there. Any outlines/guidelines for me? Park, then check in, then security? I already printed off my boarding passes from the airline's website.
Air Travel - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
yea park, go to the check in counter and check in any luggage that youre not carrying on. make sure the luggage is unlocked or locked with a tsa lock, or they will call you back and its a pain. then go to the tsa check point, they will check your carry on, if you have a laptop you have to take it out and put it in it's own lil tub, so that you can power it on and show them its a laptop and not a freaking bomb. take your shoes off and all metal and put it in another tub. if you are carrying any liquids (AT ALL even some lip gloss is bomb like contraband to the TSA) you cant have more than 3 oz. of any one liquid and each seperate liquid item has to all fit in a quart size ziploc baggie. its really just a hassle, try not to carry liquids on with you. you cant carry water or a coke, youll have to buy that when you get thru security, some food is alright tho. then when you get all your crap checked and put your shoes back on and TSA is sure youre not a terrorist... you go find your gate and wait for boarding. they call you by groups. your group will be located on your boarding pass, you just give the attendant your pass and get on the plane. store your items, fasten your seatbelt, and make stupid chit chat with someone next to you untill the plane takes off. have a good time!
2 :
get there about 2 hours early first: check in ur luggage and show them the bording passes. then ask what gate to go in and how to get to it. u go through security [take off ur shoes] and put stuff like ur carry ons in a bucket on this conveyor belt. they will usually ask for ur ticket. then u find ur flite gate and go up to the desk there and ask if the flites still on time and if theres anything else you need to do. then you can go shopping a bit until its time to board, but make sure ur back at ur gate 10 minutes b4 the time it says ull b boarding. if u have any additional questions, u can ask the ppl at the service desks around the area, and explain tht u havent flied since u were a kid, yada yada yada. on the stop, if the airline ppl say to go to customs, make sure u have ur sheets and tickets, etc. and do whtever they say to do. once u get there, follow the person in front of u to collect ur baggage at the conveyor roundy belt thing. it may take a while, so feel free to go to the bathroom or whatever.
3 :
Park, or take a shuttle; you can probably check your bags curbside - (there will probably be a $2.00 per bag charge) or enter the terminal and check your bags at the counter. Since you have already (wisely) printed your boarding pass, go directly to security. When your reach the TSA agent, have your boarding pass and ID in hand (ID - passport, drivers license or acceptable form of government ID; any concerns, check http://www.TSA.gov). As you approach the screening area, remove your shoes and place the shoes, jackets, purse/carryon in the large plastic bin provided. As the bin goes through the security device, you will proceed, barefooted, through the screening arch. Once through security, go to the gate designated on your boarding pass (recheck on the monitors - gates do sometimes change at the last minute). At your gate, simply wait until group (based on your boarding pass number) is called.."We are now boarding passengers 20 through 40...." In other words, after checking your bags, you will sail straight through to the boarding process. You will stay on the plane while it's discharging and boarding passengers in Charlotte. There are a few things that you should know regarding your carry-on luggage... you're going to put anything small and lose in a quart-size plastic bag, you are restricted to 3 ounces of any liquid (other than medications, formula, breast milk...). You are limited to one clear plastic bag. Again, http://www.TSA. gov will give you the guidelines for anything you carry onboard. For some airlines, free 'soft' drinks and snacks are becoming a thing of the past. US Air is either now or soon will be charging $2.00 per soda, juice or water. No more free meals, some flights offer sandwiches or 'lunch bags' for $5-8.00. You may want to call your airline and ask about their policy on drinks and snacks. Have a great flight, a great time.
4 :
1) well you check in and they will give you a gate number (if they don't ask)that number is where your plane will be taking off from so look at the map and find that gate 2)go to your gate and sit down 3) once you find out where it is you can go grab some coffee or something or go shopping there are a few little knick knack shops around where your gate will be. 3) listen for your boarding call it will sound somthing like "flight number ________with service to Charlotte NC First boarding call" 4) go back to your gate or if you decieded to stay at your gate then just get your things together put your bag on your shoulder all that 5) then you will here one more boarding call that will announce that ALL PEOPLE CAN BOARD NOW you must get on then PSif you get to the gate and you need to use the restroom (which I reccomend since they dont let you go on the plane untill the seatbelt sign is off and even then the bathroom is like mouse sized) go to the lady at the front desk at your gate and say I need to use the restroom do I have time. and if she says yes then go. JUST BE SURE NOT TO MISS YOUR FLIGHT. oh yeah and RELAX take a deep breath and enjoy yourself the worst that could happen is you forget where to go and then just ask someone that works on the plane DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP THAT IS THERE JOB! enjoy your vacation I hope this helped :) :) GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Booking international flight with Vayma. What does it mean if one of my flights has a "stop" in Rwanda

Booking international flight with Vayma. What does it mean if one of my flights has a "stop" in Rwanda?
Apparently this is different than your typical layover, at least Vayma makes it seem that way. I'm flying from Milwaukee to Entebbe, Uganda, on January 27th. My trip will consist of 3 flights one-way--Milwaukee to New York, New York to Belgium, and Belgium to Uganda. That said, under each of the flights in Vayma it displays the number of stops. All of the above said flights have 0 stops, except for the flight from Belgium to Uganda....it says that there's one stop in Rwanda for exactly 1 hour. So...does this mean it's just another layover? Would I reboard the same aircraft as before or switch gates, or what?? I've never heard of a plane "stop" before in the sense that it's being set apart from your typical layover. What does it mean? This probably won't work, but here is my itinerary if this helps: https://www.vayama.com/jsp/checkout/purchaseSSconf.jsp?s=79942403&source=results&cb=0.06495212554000318

A stop means you remain on the same airplane for the next leg. You may be asked to off and back or or you may simply stay on-board for the hour. A layover is one where you change flight numbers and planes. Look at your ticket and you will see the same flight continuing on.
2 :
The flight from Belgium to Uganda may just take a fuel stop in Rwanda. All they will be doing is coming down to drop off passengers and collect new ones. You will not be expected to get off and re-board.You remain in your seat for the stop period.

It means what answer number 1 says. :) How much are you paying for it? Vayama has been a bit more expensive lately... there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Smoking is not allowed on any aircraft. The lighter can probably be on your carry on, though.

I'm a smoker as well and fly alot. Yes you can bring lighters (only the disposable kind, the refillable type isn't allowed unless its empty of fuel) and matches (except the strike anywhere kind) but only in your carry-on bag, not in checked luggage because its a fire hazard. To smoke at your connection in Denver, here's info: DEN is a non-smoking airport, with the exception of 4 smoking lounges: 1. The Aviator's Club located on the west side of Jeppesen Terminal, Level 6, in the atrium, 2. The Aviator's Club located ob the mezzanine level of Concourse B, 3. The Mesa Verde Club located on the center core mezzanine of Concourse A, and 4. Smokin' Bear located at Concourse C, on the center core’s concourse level. You can also smoke outside the terminal, but not the concourses (there is no outside access).

The cheapest non-stop flight available, help

The cheapest non-stop flight available, help!!!?
I need to find a flight to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for next month, and I'm trying to find the cheapest non-stop flight possible. I was going to book earlier but I didn't have the money then. Now that I have the money, all the prices seem to have gone up dramatically. I have checked priceline.com, orbitz, travelocity, tripadvisor, and all the other sites that I can't name right now but I have checked a lot, and all of them are really out of my price range. It seems that priceline has the cheapest flights available, but even then, it's out of my price range. Does anyone of any site where it's cheaper than priceline for a NON-STOP flight to Milwaukee, Wisconsin? thank you very much, please help me out!

I find the best deal by going on the airline websites themselves and clicking where the have specials or deals. Look up the major airlines that fly from where you are to Wisconsin. Try to do it at least 21 days in advance.
2 :
Sorry but it sounds like you left it too late. Try JetBlue and Southwest as they do not release their seats to other travel sites.

Just to throw a couple of sites in the mix, you could check out dohop.com. I find that if a flight isn't shown on dohop, it just doesn't exist.

Has anyone flown Business Class AIR TRAN to VEGAS from either Milwaukee or Atlanta

Has anyone flown Business Class AIR TRAN to VEGAS from either Milwaukee or Atlanta?
THIS IS A BIT LONG READ IF YOU HAVE TIME: Do you think that we'd be able to get a business class seat if we don't buy it way ahead of time but just try to upgrade exactly 24 hours online (Air Tran's rule) before the flight takes off. This is my problem. We received two free tickets for a trip and we have to fly air tran, but my husband is sort of a bigger guy, (think football player type) and we need a bigger seat for him. I hate for him to have to squeeze into those tiny air tran coach seats. Anyway I've seen Business class on Air tran and that would work fine and we could enjoy a trip to Vegas then. But the tickets are only good for coach and then the only thing we can do is buy the upgrade to Business class for about $99 each way which we can afford. (NOTE: But we can't afford an entire new ticket in Business class since that's 1,000 bucks and they won't let us use our coach ticket towards the more expensive Business class ticket.) Anyway the people on the 800 line said the only way to do it is to wait till 24 hours before the flights to try to get a 99 dollar ugrade to Business class online but it is "first come first serve" and if people pre-paid for the expensive Business class seats at $1,000 the 12 seats could be sold out totally I guess too, sooooo,,,, now I'm worried we'll have this huge trip planned , hotels etc.,and at the last day before have to cancel it and lose my free tickets since my husband might not fit in the little seats and they might force us to pay for an entire last minute extra seat for my husband which we couldn't really afford at $500 coach either, and Business class would be sold out. So my real question is: how likely do you think a flight from Milwaukee to Vegas or Atlanta to Vegas (or Vegas to Atlanta, or Vegas to Milwaukee back again) would be sold out PRIOR to the 24 hour restriction? The agents said there's no way to really know, but that usually business class people know it's cheaper to just wait to the 24 hours before and then do it online. What do you think from all your business traveling. Thanks if you know.... ALSO is there a time of week or a certain month that a flight most likely wouldn't be full compared to other times or months to vegas? Or nowadays are almost ALL flights filled to the max to Vegas? ALLUKCAT, THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

Well I dont fly business class myself, but I do fly a lot. 1. More than likely, you will be able to upgrade- I have always been able to. I never do because I have never seen the point, but in your case I do of course. 2. You may have to split up and take seats separated from each other if you do get to upgrade, small price to pay though. (But I always have luck just asking to switch seats with the other person and they usually say sure and move). 3. You have to hope on the way back as well that seats will be open. 4. Dont worry, they wont charge you for another seat. Im a bigger guy as well, never had this issue (and I am at a point where I just barely fit into the seat belt without the extender). -They wont charge anyways because that is designed to ensure a stranger is comfortable next to the bigger person. But in this case, you will sit next to your husband- so obviously you being a bit cramped isnt an issue they need to charge for. 5. If your stuck in coach, and the seating is 3 seats next to each other- try to get a spot where the third seat is empty. I always have luck with this- that way you can sit in the aisle and him in the window and have the middle seat open with arm rests up to stretch out a bit- and thats free and just as good as business. Safe travels! Hope that helped.

It is going to depend on what gate you arrive in. I have before arrived on the gate next to my departing one, I was able to connect within 10 minutes or so. I would generally say that it is really really close. If you can change it I would. http://youngglobalcitizen.com
2 :
25 mins is tight for a connection, look at the interactive map to see if you will arrive and depart from the same concourse >> http://www.mitchellairport.com/mia_map01.html

Generally an hour is the "safe" buffer you need. An aircraft can take quite a while from landing to actually you getting off the plane, easily a half hour. The reccomendation is an hour at minimum. Good luck

i booked a trip from Milwaukee to Frankfurt stopping at Newark--do i have to show ID on the Mil-Newark flight

i booked a trip from Milwaukee to Frankfurt stopping at Newark--do i have to show ID on the Mil-Newark flight
I know i have to use the domestic Terminal at Milwaukee, but i have never flown before and i am not sure if i need to show somebody some ID before i enter the plane, from Milwaukee to Newark. i know i have to Show my Passport on the Newark-Frankfurt. Also i have a 3 hour layover at Newark is there any suggestions on what i should do there during that time?

Yes you must show an offical government issued photo ID in order to get on any plane in the United States. This has been in effect since about 1996 after the Oklahoma city bombing of the Federal Building in htat city. All passengers must show an official government issued photo ID which is basically your state drivers license or a non-drivers license id or a valid US Passport. So since you are going to Frankfurt you will have your US Passport with you so you just need to show this (passport) govt issued photo id in order to initiate your domestic travel from Milwaukee to Newark. Then as you know you will have to again show your Passport when boarding the flight to Frankfurt from Newark airport.
2 :
CO/Continental will require from you at counter your passport, as you will be flying an international flight! EWR Aiport = walk! And some great pizza near C110!

Midway vs. Milwaukee: Which would you choose

Midway vs. Milwaukee: Which would you choose?
We live in the near west suburbs of Chicago. Midway is ~45 mins away, where we have flown many times from, Milwaukee is ~2 hours away, where we have never flown from Milwaukee.. PROS AND CONS Midway is $500 more expensive for all four of us roundtrip, and we can't get a nonstop flight. However, Milwaukee has only one flight per day to that destination, the one leaving Milwaukee leaves at 8:45, forcing us to leave Oak Park at about 4:30 AM, which is on the early side =]. Which would you pick?
Air Travel - 6 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
I would pick Midway, becuase what are you going to do with your car when you get to Milwakee, youll end up paying $100s in time/gas/and lot rental fees.
2 :
i would go with milwaukee, you can always take the train that goes from chicago to milwaukee. so you would not have to worry about paying for your car to sit. Its pretty cheap to take the train, and its fast. You can take it from downtown chicago or any other stops from the suburbs. I guess midway would be more convenient for you though.
3 :
I would pick Milwaukee because it is a non-stop flight. 2 hours worth of gas in a car is not $500, and, since we are in a recession, it is good to save money.
4 :
Go to Midway Airport. I live in the Chicago suburbs and frequently fly out of Midway. It's easy to get to and from the airport, as well as easy to navigate once inside. Plus, you'll save money on gas and fares if you go to Midway. Milwaukee is too much of a driving hassle and way too expensive for you. In addition, what if the weather is snowy and travel is poor? Then you'll be in trouble if you choose Milwaukee. Midway rarely has cancellations and doesn't usually have long delays in poor weather. I choose Midway.
5 :
I'd fly out of Milwaukee... If it's an option, drive up the night before and stay at a hotel overnight to avoid having to wake up so early... Even with the hotel, gas, etc. you're still going to be spending less and not have an annoying layover...
6 :
The nice thing about the Milwaukee airport - is that it is NEVER crowded - and is very easy to get into and out of. If you're saving over $150 to fly Milwaukee instead (after your excess cost of interrim transportation, etc...) it is definately worth your time.

Where would I find a nonstop flight from San Diego, CA to Milwaukee or Madison, WI?
I am looking for a flight and so far I have been unable to find a nonstop from SAN to MKE I really dont want to go through LAX though...

I went to kayak.com and it seems like there are none. It is generally pretty difficult to find flights between non major cities that are nonstop. Not sayng San Diego is not major, but isn't it pretty close to L.A?
2 :
Anytime I want to fly somewhere, I always pull up cheaptickets dot com. It tells me every flight leaving to the destination area. And gives me lots of choices. I can see from the choices exactly which airlines travel to that area. And I get the best price on tickets and choices of times. It shows every airline that goes to that destination and gives the times of the flights. No guess work involved. And if it doesn't show a particular airline it means the airline doesn't fly to that area. It's all very clear and easy.
3 :
You might not. What I do and everyone else does, is fly into chicago midway and take the 18$ amtrak or greyhound into milwaukee, you porbably save over 100$ and find a flight easier!

Can I use only part of one-stop flight

Can I use only part of one-stop flight?
I live half way between Milwaukee and Chicago airports. To fly to some destinations I have noticed that I have the possibility to fly direct from Chicago or with one-stop from Milwaukee via Chicago to final destination!!! And the one-stop flight from Milwaukee is generally 3 times cheaper than the direct flight from Chicago; even though it has the same flight # from Chicago to destination and return. I was wondering if I could buy one-stop ticket departing from Milwaukee but just use the Chicago round trip part of the itinerary ;o) Thanks

Only if you have a carry on bag.
2 :
If you terminate travel before reaching your final destination, your return ticket will be null and void. This is called "hidden city" ticketing. This is in the same family as "back to back" ticketing. It is a violation of the airlines contract with you. You may be penalized by "debit memo" and charged for full fare, or denied boarding, or have your frequent flyer account canceled.
3 :
If you do not fly the Milwaukee sector, they will call this a no show and possibly cancel the Chicago to to final destination part. I'm a Travel Agent and so many people have done this before, they have booked a cheaper ticket from a certain city to a certain city and not flown the sector that they didn't really need. The rest of the connection was cancelled. I don't think they would cancel the return flight from your destination back to Milwaukee, but they will cancel the flight from Chicago to final destination. Which is fair enough, you are wasting space on the plane that other passengers could have travelled on.
4 :
No.

Where can I go to Flight school cheaply and quickly in the milwaukee area

WOW they are really going to be impressed you've got a quickie pilots license and on the CHEAP too! NOT, NO WAY, NO HOW, save your money if your suitable pilot material then they will happily pay for your training otherwise forget it. Having a pilots license is one NOT CHEAP OR QUICK! And another thing a five minute wonder is more likely to put them off taking you on! I guessing this is some kind of a joke? No body can be that silly to believe that a PPL is going to hold any interest for the air force ?
2 :
Well, there is no "cheap" in aviation you're looking at about 5-10 grand to get a private (depending on skill/talent) and 30-40 to get a commercial multi (same concept). If it's still around there was a flight school at Timmerman Airport (a few miles out of Milwaukee) called Gran-Aire. As far as "quickly" goes it's all up to how fast you can spend money and learn. A private license can take as little as a week if you go about it the right way (this is by the regulations and it would involved 5-8 hours a day of flying which is brutal for a newbie). A commercial will take a (minimum) of 2 months of full time flying a learning. Though, realistically, plan for 3-4 months for a private and another 8-10 on top of that for the commercial. As far as "quality" of education, you have to pass the same test and are practically tested on the same stuff at a mom and pop flight school in the middle of the boonies as you are at the pilot-mills like AllATPs or Embry Riddle. In my experience the poorest pilots typically come from the mills while you get a better education at the mom and pop schools. This is mainly to do with the mills being overcontrolled and holding your hand the entire way while at the mom and pop places you learn from experience, and experience can't be taught.
3 :
Just Google Milwaukee flight school and call them up to find out what the costs are. It will cost about $125 an hour for an airplane and an instructor, $80 for the airplane solo. You need a minimum of 40 hours with 10 hours sols to get your license but 60-80 hours is probably about how many hours most people have when they get their license. With ground school $5,000 minimum and probably closer to $10,000 to get your license. If you have the money and the time you can have a license within a couple of months flying several times a week. Before spending any money I'd recommend that you first apply to the air force and see if you qualify. You don't need to enlist to take the tests. You can begin flight training after you're accepted. It can be a year or more before you will be told to report. Having a license isn't going to help you much as far as getting assigned to flight school in the air force. It might even be detrimental because you will have to unlearn some of what your civilian instructor taught you and learn to do it the air force way. I'd recommend not going much beyond solo just to get familiar with flying.
4 :
It is obvious that you have no concept of what you have to do to become a military pilot. let me enlighten you. You need to graduate from a 4-yr college, preferably in the AFROTC program. I chose the ROTC route to learn to fly because it paid my way through college via the scholarship program. Air Force ROTC is not open until you are actually entering college. Navy ROTC scholarship programs start the selection process in the fall of your senior year in high school. In the spring the selection process is complete and you can select which college you want to attend. You need to contact a local officer recruiter to get the details on beginning the selection process. What ever you do, do not enlist in the Navy. It is not required and may actually screw up your chances of selection. NROTC scholarships pay for full tuition, fees, books and a monthly stipend (money). Air Force ROTC only offers a stipend during the last 2 years you are in college. Whether the Air Force or Navy for flying? I chose the Navy for many reasons. Air Force training is pretty well done and the pilots get their wings at the same training point that Navy students finish their Basic Flight Training Command level. Air Force pilots then go to a training squadron where more advanced techniques are taught. Navy pilots complete Advanced Flight Training Command prior to getting their wings. After advanced Navy pilots go to a Replacement Air Group where they fly the fleet birds to which they have been assigned. The most notable difference is that Navy pilots learn to fly on and off aircraft carriers at each stage of the syllabus. In the final stage you fly off the boat both day and night. That is a considerable step up from taking off and landing on 8,000ft of concrete. My granny can land on 8,000ft of concrete (my bias is obvious and I am proud of it). You can be preselected for the Navy flight training prior to making any commitments, but if you wash out you have to complete your obligated service. If it were easy anyone could do it. That's why military aviators are understandably proud of their profession and professionalism. You chose. Pick one. Note: Do NOT get a pilot's license prior to starting any military flight program. Military flight instructors hate that because they have to squander valuable flight time undoing what the bug-smasher instructors have taught you. The military, especially the Navy, demands that you do it their way or its' the highway.

2 :
Check out farecast.com. Also you can take a look at bt-store.com. There are plenty of non-stop flights to vegas from milwaukee (and cheap, too!). You're gonna have to fork over lots of money if you want a non-stop return flight.
3 :
I can help. I always dislike when people are so vague in their air travel questions. You actually gave me travel dates! I can work with that! You only have two options for which airlines to take- Airtran or Midwest. Those are the only two airlines which have non-stop service to Las Vegas. Midwest Airlines is going to charge you $1400 for non-stop service on the dates you selected. Airtran is going to charge you $628.30. If If you decided to take a 1-stop itinerary flight, the price is $482.89. That is for Delta Airlines, and a stop in Atlanta.
4 :
Here is what I found . .. MKE to LAS - is really pricy for your dates non-stop Midwest airlines is the most expensive with $1347 Midwest 2 a day!! Then there is airtran which is about 801.00 bux!!! Really expensive best is to just go with a stop! The cheapest with a stop in Atlanta is like 475.00. All of these are round trip!

Greatly depends on how often they have connecting flights. Put your trip into your airline's website and see. With a trip like Texas to Costa Rica, you'd have to find an airline that even goes there. You may fly to another city to get to Costa Rica in the first place. Plus there may be only 1 flight per day there. So if you got there in the morning and the only flight was at night, you'd have to add all day into your travel.
2 :
for correct information look at flight departure and arrival times listed on air line schedules

id say around 3 hours, maybe little less, little more

How about this for a try. You will need to change once at Toronto. First leg of the journey from Milwaukee to Toronto see link http://www.midwestairlines.com/MAWeb/ Second leg of the journey from Toronto to Madrid with Air Transat. See link http://www.transat.com/en/ I have no idea as yet whether there is a short connection time at Toronto or not, but it is a cheaper way to travel.
2 :
First, try student travel sites. These are sometimes cheaper and more flexible: WeFlyHome.com STAtravel.com TravelCuts.com StudentUniverse.com Then try http://www.bookingbuddy.com with as many of their sources as you can. 1 input of cities and dates there can check hundreds of sources, including Kayak, Priceline, Orbitz, airlines direct, consolidators, and sources that check more sources--all in 1 go. Otherwise, I see Chicago-Madrid $521 total with American if you depart the 16th. If the links I gave above can't beat that, then you can get it from http://www.aa.com

I'm a fellow cheesehead and have lived in korea for about 2 years. Honestly I have had the best luck with travelocity and sometimes expedia. But the KEY is to book earlier than later. You may find a cheaper fare later but it will be harder to find as the time for your departure gets closer. Also, flying out of Ohare (Chicago) I think would be cheaper than flying out of Milwaukee's crappy airport. Take a bus to Chi'town and then fly from Chicago. Also, consider flying into Seoul, Korea as it is a larger airport. It will be cheaper. Then you can take a fast train (3 hours) from Seoul to Busan for only roughly $50 dollars. If more comfortable have a friend meet you in Seoul and you can ride the train together to Busan. I do not know how experienced of a traveler you are, but consider also a Southwest flight from Milwaukee to LAX-roundtrip. Then fly LAX to Seoul (ICN) roundtrip. Good luck.

You should get there at least 2 hours before so you have plenty of time to check in, eat something, and go to the bathroom.
4 :
If you aren't checking in any baggage, you can get there 1 1/2 hours ahead of time. I think 2 hours is way too much time. I never check any baggage, and I can make it through security, have time to eat, and catch my plane in 1 1/2 hours. It really depends on what the weather is like. If the weather is poor, allow more time to get to the airport.

Around 6:30 am.

Has anyone ever bought (flight) tickets from yahoo travel

Has anyone ever bought (flight) tickets from yahoo travel?
We bought tickets back in Oct when the rates were low for direct flights from Milwaukee to Phoenix. According to Yahoo, the airline has changed out flight to a layover in Atlanta before we get to PHX. According to MKE Airt Tran does direct flights to PHX but they switched it. Is there any leeway with this? This is the first time I've booked tickets.

Yahoo just sells the tickets. They have no control over the airline's flight schedule. If AirTran changed your flight, call them and they will work with you. I have had the same thing happen to me on Delta. I just called Delta, gave them my confirmation number and they worked out something. I do not remember AirTran ever having a direct flight from MKE to PHX so you may have to just connect in Atlanta. Maybe AirTran will help you change your itinerary so you have a more favorable connection time.

For Milwaukee airport as any other airport, rule of thumb is 1.5hr before domestic departure and 2.5 hour before international departure.

Just keep checking the flights. I use sites like Orbitz.com to check multiple airlines at once, and see all the different flight options. You can also search multiple days from there. I'd also check out AirTran Airways, they're now operating non-stop from Milwaukee to Boston. If you're willing to drive to Chicago, you could also do Southwest to Providence, which is a bit south of Boston, as a cheap alternative.
2 :
If flights are expensive you could also try Amtrak or Greyhound. They are inexpensive alternatives if you are willing to spend more time traveling.
3 :
i usually fly out using midwest airlines , they go non stop and its one of the cheapest around. it'll probably cost you around $200. also if you check out the rates a few months before you want to go its cheaper than if youre going last minute .

I put your info into Expedia and only found flights with Delta, US Airways, Northwest, American and Northwest.
2 :
www.allegiantair.com -- The departure city is Appleton/Green Bay, WI and the arrival city is listed as Daytona Beach Area, FL... Here, I just picked random dates. http://www.allegiantair.com/aaRes/aaBookingFlow_1.php
3 :
Alligiant flies out of Appleton/Green Bay Wisconsin, Peoria and Rockford Illinois and South Bend Indiana. No links in Daytona, either. Closest would be Orlando/Sanford.

Good for you! Your luggage will be checked to San Francisco so you don't need to get it until you get there. There are lots of good signs that tell you where the baggage claim is and once you get there a sign over each carousel will tell you what flight the luggage is coming from. When you are in Detroit if you are on the same airline you may have only a short walk to the next gate. There are monitors that tell all the departures and the gate #'s and there are people at each gate to ask. Thousands of people go through the airport every day and most have never been to that airport before so there are lots of signs. Have a good flight!

how much fuel does a 747 use on a flight from milwaukee to tampa

how much fuel does a 747 use on a flight from milwaukee to tampa?

Im assuming your talking about an empty craft with 0 weather issues. Boeing says an empty 747 flying in optimal conditions uses 5 gallons for every mile. 1100 miles, including weight of the fuel, roughly 6000 gallons.
2 :
A plane like a Boeing 747 uses approximately 1 gallon of fuel (about 4 liters) every second. Over the course of a 10-hour flight, it might burn 36,000 gallons (150,000 liters). According to Boeing's Web site, the 747 burns approximately 5 gallons of fuel per mile (12 liters per kilometer). Distance MKE to Tampa: 1268 miles X5 = 6340 gallons approxiamtely
3 :
It is impossible to answer this question; because it depends upon what model of the Boeing 747 aircraft you are talking about; how many passengers or how much weight in cargo it is carrying, at what speed, at what altitude, in what temperatures at what time of year. For example, a 747-400 has a wingspan of 211 feet---a 747-600 has a span of 251 feet. the first is 63 feet high, the second is 70 feet high; the first has a weight of 403,500 pounds, the second a weight of 480,000 pounds. The 747-400 carries 385,000 pounds of fuel, the 747-600 carries 600,000 pounds. And then, there are a series of different engines available for each model. Each engine has different fuel use characteristics. Each aircraft has flight characteristics that establish an optimal range and altitude and speed for maximum fuel efficiency. It varies with weight, trim, temperature (day or night flying) and weather characteristics such as headwind and tailwind.
4 :
why would you fly a 747 top tampa that isnt a very long flight you could fly something more fuel efficiant

did you try southwest airlines?
2 :
I believe that Laughlin may not have an airport and if they do it will be small and many of the commercial airlines don't fly there. First, try the smaller, discount airlines: Southwest, Airtran, America West, Skybus, Frontier, Jetblue, etc. You may have to fly into LA Vegas and drive to Laughlin which I believe is only about 2 hrs. GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN
3 :
You don't . You fly into Las Vegas -LAS -rent a car and drive it .It's kind of a neat drive actually .The best part is when you make the right onto US 95 from US 93 and you're looking 50+ miles down this little ribbon of 2 laner If you don't believe me go to http://www.airnav.com/airports and enter KIFP in the box that asks for airport Open that up and click on Book A Flight

If I have a round trip flight to Milwaukee but a layover in Chicago both ways can i get off in Chicago

If I have a round trip flight to Milwaukee but a layover in Chicago both ways can i get off in Chicago.?
If I have a round trip flight from NC to Milwaukee but a layover in Chicago both ways can i get off in Chicago stay the week and get back on in Chicago? or do I have to get off in Milwaukee on my way in inorder to fly back out? Once again this was booked as a round trip.

I'm really confused by your question. Are you asking if you can make a week-long connection between two flights? If so, that's impossible. Are you asking if you can get off in your connection city, stay the week, and get back on on the return portion of your ticket AT the connecting city and return to your originating city? If that's what you're asking, then probably no. The airline will notice that you have not travelled 2 out of the 4 flights (the flight from Chicago to Milwaukee and Milwaukee to Chicago) and will cancel the remainder of the itinerary. People try to do this to get cheaper tickets and the airlines know people do it, so they try to catch people and cancel the remainder of the itinerary. If you WANT to do the whole Chicago stay deal, looks like you're going to be buying several one-way tickets. Sorry :-(
2 :
Alica, if your fare is based on a connection, not a lay-over, in Chicago, then the airline can charge you for the Chicago-NC fare plus the Chicago-Milwaukee fare. There is a difference between a lay-over and a connection in fare construction. If you are supposed to make a connection in Chicago, and stay there, when you try to use the Chicago-Milwaukee portion of your ticket, you will be charged quite a bit for the difference in fare. In short, don't do this. It may cost you $200 or more. Regards, Dan
3 :
That would be nice!! I live between the two cities and this has happend to me! You CAN NOT get off in Chicago or else your ticket to go back will be voided!! You must stay on the flight to your next destination. I know it stinks but thats the way the airlines rules go! Good Luck!
4 :
Sure, you could get of in Chicago and stay as long as you want, but when it comes time to go back to North Carolina, you'll have to buy a new ticket. When you fail to show up for the return flight in Milwaukee, they will give your seat to someone on stand-by. You have to complete the trip on your ticket, as scheduled, in order to get full credit of that ticket.

How long would a flight from Milwaukee to Manchester take

How long would a flight from Milwaukee to Manchester take?
Okay so I'm taking a trip to scotland in less than a year, but we are flying in to Manchester, so I was wondering how long the flight will be?

There are no nonstop flights between MKE and Manchester, UK -- any itinerary between those two airports will have a layover and connection at one or more airports along the way. The actual time will depend on where the connections are and how long your layovers are. For example, if you were flying from MKE to MAN on US Airways via Philadelphia, orbitz.com says that the total travel time would be about 11 and a half hours, based on a flight time of about 2 hours between MKE and PHL, 7 hours between PHL and MAN, and about two and a half hours' worth of layover time. The time may be longer if your connection is further away (flying Delta through Atlanta, for example, would add additional flying time) or if you need to connect in multiple locations (such as flying American Airlines and British Airways, which would require connections in Chicago and London, for example).
