Smoking is not allowed on any aircraft. The lighter can probably be on your carry on, though.

I'm a smoker as well and fly alot. Yes you can bring lighters (only the disposable kind, the refillable type isn't allowed unless its empty of fuel) and matches (except the strike anywhere kind) but only in your carry-on bag, not in checked luggage because its a fire hazard. To smoke at your connection in Denver, here's info: DEN is a non-smoking airport, with the exception of 4 smoking lounges: 1. The Aviator's Club located on the west side of Jeppesen Terminal, Level 6, in the atrium, 2. The Aviator's Club located ob the mezzanine level of Concourse B, 3. The Mesa Verde Club located on the center core mezzanine of Concourse A, and 4. Smokin' Bear located at Concourse C, on the center coreĆ¢€™s concourse level. You can also smoke outside the terminal, but not the concourses (there is no outside access).
