Midway vs. Milwaukee: Which would you choose

Midway vs. Milwaukee: Which would you choose?
We live in the near west suburbs of Chicago. Midway is ~45 mins away, where we have flown many times from, Milwaukee is ~2 hours away, where we have never flown from Milwaukee.. PROS AND CONS Midway is $500 more expensive for all four of us roundtrip, and we can't get a nonstop flight. However, Milwaukee has only one flight per day to that destination, the one leaving Milwaukee leaves at 8:45, forcing us to leave Oak Park at about 4:30 AM, which is on the early side =]. Which would you pick?

I would pick Midway, becuase what are you going to do with your car when you get to Milwakee, youll end up paying $100s in time/gas/and lot rental fees.

i would go with milwaukee, you can always take the train that goes from chicago to milwaukee. so you would not have to worry about paying for your car to sit. Its pretty cheap to take the train, and its fast. You can take it from downtown chicago or any other stops from the suburbs. I guess midway would be more convenient for you though.

I would pick Milwaukee because it is a non-stop flight. 2 hours worth of gas in a car is not $500, and, since we are in a recession, it is good to save money.

Go to Midway Airport. I live in the Chicago suburbs and frequently fly out of Midway. It's easy to get to and from the airport, as well as easy to navigate once inside. Plus, you'll save money on gas and fares if you go to Midway. Milwaukee is too much of a driving hassle and way too expensive for you. In addition, what if the weather is snowy and travel is poor? Then you'll be in trouble if you choose Milwaukee. Midway rarely has cancellations and doesn't usually have long delays in poor weather. I choose Midway.

I'd fly out of Milwaukee... If it's an option, drive up the night before and stay at a hotel overnight to avoid having to wake up so early... Even with the hotel, gas, etc. you're still going to be spending less and not have an annoying layover...

The nice thing about the Milwaukee airport - is that it is NEVER crowded - and is very easy to get into and out of. If you're saving over $150 to fly Milwaukee instead (after your excess cost of interrim transportation, etc...) it is definately worth your time.
